A criteria for buying a smartphone

The median iPhone app user earns $85,000 per year, which is 40 percent more than the median Android phone user with an annual income of $61,000.

I read that statistics in some site. Suppose the price of a new iPhone is $800, the buyers who go for it, actually put 1 percent of their annual income to purchase it. Not just an iPhone user even android users contribute 1 percent for purchase of a smartphone. And on average a smartphone lasts till 2 years or more if it’s an iPhone. Or in other words, given decent quality hardware, normally the phone doesn’t die very soon.

Now, what makes a decent hardware? What are the requirements to be a decent smartphone? That is a hard question. Nevertheless, I have come up with some requirements that are essential for my seamless smart life. You might feel useful too. I want my perfect smartphone to have the following qualities.

  1. It should have good network signal reception provided good service provider like airtel, I want a phone which always let people reach me in connected areas
  2. It should have micro SD card support for 256 GB, I may add 256 GB sd card later in future
  3. Importantly, It should be lesser than ₹20,000
  4. It should have headphone jack, who said wireless headset is convenient? People you can’t just force us to be uncomfortable
  5. It should be lesser than 145 cm in height, small and sexy hands I’ve got
  6. It should be fall tolerant, I have a tendency to drop stuff, I don’t want to see my phone screen shatter on a single fall, so, Corning gorilla glass 3 atleast is a must
  7. It doesn’t have to be completely water proof, not going to swim with it, but I want it to be splash proof, occasionally I would use it near the bath shower
  8. And It should have the latest OS Oreo, Usually I am not too strict about OS version but when I hear that android is full of security holes, it’s better to have the latest OS with security patches. Also, with oreo while launch, the phones have to support project treble, which facilitate us to install any standard custom ROM.
  9. It should have atleast 1.8 GHz fast Qualcomm CPU, now this might sound less reasonable or sensible, my older blackberry had a dual core 1.7 GHz processor, I want my next phone to be a superior model
  10. It should have atleast 506 adreno GPU, I don’t play too many games but when I do, I want my phone to be able render it fast enough
  11. The battery should last a day
  12. RAM must be 3 or 4GB and it should have user storage of 26 GB or more

Now, I didn’t yet find the phone, the closer I got was Nokia 8, but it too costs more than my budget. If had just earned twice as now, I could have sony XZ1 compact, since I would have increased my budget. Let’s see what 2018 brings me. Thanks for reading, Bye
