I stayed awake for nothing

Hi guys,

Recently, I saw this post about Flipkart’s Big Shopping Days, in which they claimed that they are gonna sell oppo F7, launched about a week ago, for a 1000rs or 13$. I just got super excited and just couldn’t wait for the sale to begin. I was so eager that I even shared my enthusiasm with my DH to stay awake to welcome the day of sale. The clock was ticking and it was just few minutes before it became 12. I visited the site and surfing the particular page. It got stuck for a min and then my eagerness even sky rocketed that there are alot of people out there buying the 1000rs phone. It finally opened up, boom, there it was. It had a lot of math calculations. It said that we should buy the phone at 16000rs and after 8 months they would buy it from us for 15000rs. What was that? I got cheated again.

Real Cause for being cheated

I live in Bangalore South. I have been in Bangalore from mid of 2014. I know little kannada which I use with the localites. I am also not a social person, I don’t like speaking alot. But I have a lot of friends. I get this anxiety whenever I speak with the local vendors or poor people. I am afraid that they’ll cry and show their problems to me.

So, whenever they even speak to me, I will run away or just give away my money to them. This is my weakness and I just realized this when I was visiting my cousin’s family in North Bangalore and had to buy fruits from a vendor.

These vendors right, they’re absolute cheaters, they just wait for an anxious person to show up and steal their money in front of them. I bought a kg of apples for 180rs, which was not costly and asked him for another kg of pomegranates and asked for total, he told me that it was 400rs, I paid no heed to the doubt that arose in my mind because being anxious of getting out of the shop. When I returned back from the shop, my hubby immediately realized that I was cheated. He told me that anymore he would not let me buy stuff.

Being alert is the only way to protect ourselves.

My 30 Thousand Rupee Mi A1

Hi,

I was using an iPhone till October 2017 when it broke and became completely unusable. It was just an year old phone. It was a 5s with 16GB of storage, manufactured by August 2016. Then I had been using my husband’s Moto G3, whose display went bad within a couple of months. I replaced the display with a duplicate one and the glass screen shattered in a week.

I got pissed off with my husband and myself for not being able to get an iPhone. Now that I reflect on it, it’s totally me who was in a constant fix. Anyway, I saw that AD in Quikr, that said they had a bunch of oneplus phones which they will sell for 15k for each.

Desperately, I transferred the money to them and I got cheated. Desperate people get cheated. And then, I went to my native and bought a Mi A1 for 14.5k with some case and a headset for 0.5k totalling 15k.

I have been using it from March 2018. It’s been 3 months and the phone is not perfect, it has it’s own flaws. Notable con being the camera and jittery GPS. But otherwise it’s fine in my opinion.

Anyway, the total cost of my phone is 30k, I could very well have purchased an oneplus, whose camera is way better comparatively, or an iPhone 6 with a superior camera.

Well, they say that we can improve the camera quality of my Mi A1, by installing a unofficial Port of Google Camera. Soon, I will be trying it out and let you know.

Thanks

Happy Exploring.
