Redmi 5 is not the #compactpowerhouse

If we look at the specs of Redmi 5, which is already launched in China, we can find the dimensions to be 151.8×72.7×7.7 (mm) which is clearly taller, broader but slimmer than the previous model in the same series Redmi 4, whose dimensions are 139.2x70x8.7 (mm). Redmi 4 is a compact but midrange phone. It fits nicely in the hands. It feels perfect to my hand. The only thing that irks me is the lack of Gorilla glass. My DH dropped it when I had called him angrily, and imagine what happened, the display glass broke in the corner. I wonder if it’s my anger that transmitted through the cell phone waves and hit the phone so hard that my DH couldn’t hold it properly in his hands and dropped it. Anyway, how it got dropped is a different story or blog altogether. It couldn’t stand a single fall. That’s the point. A Deep sigh.

Well, let’s get back to the original problem, when the size of the phone is increased how could they call it a compact phone???

And added to that’s something I saw in Amazon India app. It was showing the banner for compact powerhouse and guess what, it dint have Redmi but Mi. So, my guess is it could be a compact Mi phone that I’m hoping will have Gorilla glass protection.

UPDATE

Of course, I was wrong
