Love for Hate
Hi peeps!!!
It’s been long since I wrote a post. I guess, I was just anxious, depressed, clueless and busy. Anyway, I am back with some reflections.
I am a Christian and I have learned a lot of verses which were really a translation work of the perception of the apostles of Jesus about Jesus’ words. Hmm, in simple terms, Jesus didn’t write down the biblical verses himself but the translators, who translated the writings of the apostles of Jesus, did it.
I had many a times thought that the biblical verses looked very ideal and impractical. And whenever I questioned about that to my elders, they just shunned me saying, that was what a true Christian did and would do. What they didn’t tell me conveniently was, that they also didn’t follow those impractical verses. I was puzzled and I tried hard to follow them blindly and eventually hated my real self. I began to hate Christianity. Then they called me arrogant. Well, Jesus was called names too.
Then I started to understand the reality, firstly there’s the understanding issues, Jesus Christ was holy and wise, his disciples were wise too, but not as wise as Him, clearly, the probability of the disciples to misunderstand Jesus, though small, is not negligible. Secondly, the translation guys, there is a probability that they made mistakes too.
So, one verse that made no sense to me whatsoever is, “love for hate”. Why should one love an enemy? Is this, Stockholm syndrome? Well, what I now think is, it is actually “no hate for hate”, suddenly this makes more sense to me.
What do you think? True or Not?
